In 1972 things changed yet again at Station 27 when they received new sister Crowns, one assigned to Pumper 27 (operated by a single auto fireman and run in combination with W27) and the other assigned to the second four-man triple (E227) of Heavy Duty Task Force 27. Shown here is Crown S/N F1670, LAFD Shop 60263, which ran as E227. It was powered by a 855 Cummins Diesel engine. Today this Crown provides rides for tourists at the Grand Canyon Caverns and Inn in northern Arizona.
