After replacement by a newer unit, the 1967 Crown Heavy Utilty was sent to Nationwide Auction where it was sold on 3-17-96. CFE members stopped bidding when the price rose too high. The winning bid was $13,500 to a Sun Valley auto recyling yard which parked it outside and spray painted "For Sale" on all sides. Their initial asking price was $35,000, It was also listed in the Big Truck Trader for many months with no takers. By January 1997, the asking price had dropped to around $20,000.
